DJ D Rell Talks Music, Roots, and NYC Life in Exclusive ZNS Interview

Manhattan, New York — ZNS reporter Ledaunne Davis was in Manhattan, New York, for the 2nd Annual Bahamas Business & Investment Forum, and on Thursday, May 29, 2025, she caught up with DJ D Rell at the world-famous Slattery’s Midtown Pub to find out what he has been up to.
As reported by Ledaunne, Darrell Cooper aka DJ D Rell, was born on the island of Eleuthera and moved to Washington Heights, New York City, at the age of three.
He plays music across all genres, hosting both public and private parties throughout the tri-state area. DJ D Rell can regularly be seen at Slattery’s Midtown Pub spinning Hip Hop, Reggae, Soca, and Rake n Scrape music.
DJ D Rell has performed with and hosted Rake n Scrape superstars Jonny Cake, Julien Believe, and Stileet.
